This is because the description of Jesse’s stump is not fulfilled by Jesus pbuh, but is fulfilled by Ahmed Alhasan (as).

To understand this, readers are requested to read through to the end of the answer, which is taken from the The Thirteenth Disciple.

Isaiah – 11:

There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.

And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.

And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear,

but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked.

Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins.

The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them.

The cow and the bear shall graze; their young shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

The nursing child shall play over the hole of the cobra, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder’s den.

They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

In that day the root of Jesse, who shall stand as a signal for the peoples — of him shall the nations inquire, and his resting place shall be glorious.

In that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time to recover the remnant that remains of his people, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea.

He will raise a signal for the nations and will assemble the banished of Israel, and gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

These events are appropriate for the Minor Resurrection and did not occur previously and will not occur other than in the State of Divine Justice. As for Jesse, as mentioned in the Torah, is David’s (pbuh) father. The Mother of Imam Mahdi (pbut) is from the lineage of David (pbuh) Her story in summary: she was a princess whose grandfather was the Caesar of Rome, and she saw Prophet Jesus, his executor Simon Safaa in a dream and the Messenger Muhammad (pbuhahf) and the Messenger requested from Jesus that she be betrothed to his descendent Imam Al Hasan Al Askari (pbuh), to which Jesus said to Simon Safaa (aka Simon Peter) ‘a great honour has come to you’.

Since she is descended from Simon Safaa (Simon Peter), the executor of Jesus and since she saw many dreams after that and put herself through captivity and many miracles occurred for her until she reached the home of Imam Ali Al Hadi (pbuh), who then married her to his son Al Hasan Al Askari and from them was born Al Imam Muhammad b. Al Hasan Al Mahdi. So Al Imam Muhammad b. Al Hasan Al Mahdi is from the lineage of Israel (Jacob) from his mother’s side and from the lineage of Muhammad from his father’s side. So he is the shoot from the stump of Jesse which also applies to the First of the 12 Mahdis, being descended from the Mahdi (12th Imam), who comes from the stump of Jesse. And the First Mahdi whose name is Ahmed, as in the narrations from the Messenger Muhammad (p) and the Imams (p) is the messenger from Imam Mahdi (p) and his executor and his right hand man and the first of the believers in him before he rises with the sword.

:اشعياء الإصحاح الحادي عشر (ويخرج قضيب من جذع يسّى وينبت غصن من أصوله ويحل عليه روح الرب روح الحكمة والفهم روح المشورة والقوة روح المعرفة ومخافة الرب ولذته تكون في مخافة الرب فلا يقظي بحسب نظر عينيه ولا يحكم بحسب سمع أُذنيه بل يقظي بالعدل للمساكين ويحكم بالإنصاف لبائسي الأرض ويضرب الأرض بقضيب فمه ويميت المنافق بنفخة شفتيه ويكون البر منطقة متنيه والأمانة منطقة حقويه . فيسكن الذئب مع الخروف ويربض النمر مع الجدي والعجل مع الشبل … لا يسوئون ولا يفسدون في كل جبل قدسي لأن الأرض تمتلئ من معرفة الرب كما تغطي المياه البحر . ويكون في ذلك اليوم أن اصل يسّى القائم راية للشعوب إياه تطلب الأمم ويكون محله مجدا …)

وهذه الأحداث كلها ملائمة للقيامة الصغرى ولم تحدث فيما مضى ولا تحدث إلا في دولة العدل الإلهي . أما يسّى وهو في التوراة معروف انه والد نبي الله داوود (ع) . وأم الإمام المهدي (ع) من ذرية داوود (ع) . وقصتها باختصار شديد (إنها أميرة جدها قيصر الروم رأت في المنام نبي الله عيسى (ع) ووصيه شمعون الصفا والرسول محمد (ص) وخطبها الرسول محمد (ص) من عيسى (ع) لولده الإمام الحسن العسكري (ع) فقال عيسى (ع) لشمعون الصفا أو سمعان بطرس قد جاءك شرف عظيم . لأنها من ذرية شمعون الصفا (سمعان بطرس ) وصي عيسى (ع) ورأت بعد ذلك رؤيات كثيرة وعرضت نفسها للسبي وحصلت لها معجزات كثيرة حتى وصلت إلى دار الإمام علي الهادي (ع) فزوجها من ابنه الإمام الحسن العسكري (ع) و ولدت له الإمام محمد بن الحسن المهدي (ع) . فالإمام المهدي محمد بن الحسن العسكري (ع) من ذرية إسرائيل (يعقوب (ع) ) من جهة الأم ومن ذرية محمد (ص) من جهة الأب .

فيصدق عليه انه قضيب من جذع يسّى .

كما يصدق على المهدي الأول من المهديين الأثني عشر انه غصن يخرج من ذاك القضيب من جذع يسّى لأنه من ذرية الإمام المهدي (ع) . والمهدي الأول والذي اسمه احمد كما في الروايات عن الرسول محمد (ص) والأئمة (ع) هو رسول الإمام المهدي (ع) ووصيه ويمينه وأول مؤمن به عند بداية ظهوره قبل قيامه بالسيف.
