The true scholar is someone who embodies that knowledge which takes people to Allah and supports the state of divine justice, since recognition of Allah is a key objective from the implementation of caliphate.
That knowledge can only come from unifying one’s purpose with the hujjah (proof) of Allah on earth and learning from that pure spring.
The following verses were taken en from a sermon that has been recorded on the almadyoon.org website and they will articulate the above statements.
This khutbah was given on 4th Safar 1435 (approximately 7th Dec 2013) in 2014, about the role of the scholar with regards the dawah.

“And Allah most high said in his good book: “And when he reached his full strength, we gave him wisdom, knowledge and like that, we reward those who do good” (Joseph: 22)
“And to Lot, we gave wisdom, knowledge and we saved him from the settlement whose people would perform bad acts – verily they were a sinning people (The Prophets)
"And they found one of our servants, to whom we had bestowed mercy from ourselves and taught him knowledge from ourselves" (The Cave: 64)
"And from mankind and the animals and cattle, with different colours – like that – only the knowledgable ones from his servants fear Allah. Verily Allah is mighty and forgiving” (Creator: 28)
"But the ones who are grounded in knowledge amongst them, and the believers, believe in what has been revealed to you and what was revealed before you, and the those who establish salaat and give the alms and believe in Allah and the Last Day. To them shall we bestow a mighty reward" (The Women: 162)
The above are enough to clearly show the central nature of knowledge to divine governance on earth.
