Some people say that the head of Imam Husain (as) is buried in Egypt, at a place called Maqam Al Husain, which is visited by lovers of the Ahlulbayt. Is it really buried there?

This is answered in the following section of Al Jawab Al Muneer, question 257 in volume 3

(وضريح الحسين في كربلاء وليس هناك شيء من جسد الحسين ع في المقام الذي في مصر، ولكن لمن زار هذا المقام في مصر أجر وثواب لأنه إيحاء لأمر الحسين ع)

And the tomb of Al Husain is in Karbala and there is nothing from the body of Al Husain (as) in the place situated in Egypt, but there is recompense and reward for those who visit that place in Egypt, since they are reviving the matter of Husain (as).

The importance of visiting any of the Ahlulbayt, especially key personalities, is to keep their memories alive and to encourage people to follow on their divine path.
